I look
back on the years that Mark and I have been together. My, how we have changed.
I am definitely not the same person I was 10 years ago, 5 years ago, or even a
year ago. Neither is Mark. We've both changed... a lot. I can't help but think
that CF has played a big role in how it has changed and shaped both of us, our
relationship, our thoughts of the past and of the future.
CF hasn't
exactly allowed us the life we expected for ourselves, hoped for, or had
dreamed of. There are still days it catches both of us off guard, and we are
forced to see the life we've both been given: the good, the difficult, and
everything in between. Life isn't always fair, nor can we have the expectation
that it is ever going to be. All we can do is welcome the life we have been
given and be most grateful for every breath we are allowed to take. Because in
every breath there is beauty.
It is the
people who encapsulate our lives that give us strength to endure the journey we
are given: through the best of times and the most difficult times. Although
Mark and I may be vastly different people than when we originally set out on
this journey together, one thing remains unchanged: our commitment and deep
rooted love for one another. That is the one thing CF cannot steal from us. I
know whatever life gives us, Mark will be right next to me through it all: in times of celebration, trial, and everything in between. Love to you all.
Change is all part of what makes the journey beautiful.
